It doesn't matter if the beef isn't finished cooking yet, it'll continue to cook in the remaining steps.

  1. Chop up the meat. Julienne the ginger. Finely chop the green onion.
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan and first cook the ginger. Once fragrant, add the meat and continue cooking.
  3. Once the oil has coated everything, add the sake and the sugar. Briefly stir-fry.
  4. Remove the ingredients from the pan. Pour in the soy sauce and bring it to a simmer. Return the ingredients and cook in the soy sauce.
  5. Once cooked, add the green onion and lightly stir-fry to finish.
  6. If adding Japanese leek (naga-negi), add it in a little bit before the soy sauce.
