- Prepare 1 tsp Adarak mirchi paste / ginger chilli paste
- Get 1 spring Kadhi patta / curry leaves
This taste of khichdi is enhanced by the goodness of a ton. When it comes to the khichdi recipe, I always prefer slightly mushy, soft texture. If you do not like this way, then reduce the amount of water and decrease the cooking time. In this vegetable masala khichdi, I have used potato, peas, carrot and capsicum along with onion tomato.
Instructions to make Veg masala khichadi:
- Take a bowl mix rice and green moong daa clean and wash drain out water and keep aside
- Now in cooker heat the gas add ghee 2 tbs add laung, cinnamon stick, dry mirchi,jeera, hing now add ginger chilli paste,stir them,add 1 bowl vegetable (carrot,peas aloo capsicums,cauliflower) stir them on slow flame now add masala haldi,salt Spoon khichadi masala stir it now add mix daal and rice again stir it
- Now add water in it should be upper level 2 fingers to all mixer cover lid and take 3 whistle, cool it, open the cooker
- Ready to serve veg masala fry khichadi garnish with Coriander, serve with plain curd or kadhi papad onion ring and fry hari mirch
You can use any other vegetables of your choice. Last Sunday I made this masala khichdi with vegetables, rice, moong dal and spices easily in a pressure cooker instead of veg biryani. We all loved it very much. It was a tummy filling, healthy and tasty North Indian style lunch. Usually I make plain moong dal khichdi for Sendhil whenever he suffers from stomach upset problems for easy digestion.
